The Texas Private School Coaches Association was formed in the summer of 2007 as a bi-product of the first State of Texas Private School State 7 on 7 Championship held in Houston.
In 2007, a group of around 70 coaches from around the state met at Southwest Christian High School in Fort Worth, TX to elect the first board of directors. From that meeting, the TPSCA has increased its reach into the realm of private school coaching. Its members include coaches from Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS), Southwest Preparatory Conference (SPC), and independent schools.
In 2008, the TPSCA held its first summer state convention at The University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, TX. This convention was headlined by the University of Texas Head Football Coach Mack Brown and included a list of many other outstanding speakers from various sports in the high school and collegiate ranks.
In 2009, the organization is committed to increasing awareness in private school athletes by hosting three All-Star games (football, baseball, and softball) at the 2009 State Convention to be held in Austin on July 17-18.
